As someone who has always been passionate about storytelling, I find immense joy in shedding light on untold narratives. In this blog post, I’ll give you a glimpse into my upcoming documentary, “The Way of the Healer,” and the video podcast that will accompany it. Embracing Change and a New Look Before we dive into the core of this project, let me address the elephant in the room: my brand new look. While wigs have been a part of my life in the past, I’ve been contemplating a shift in my appearance. Change is inevitable, and even my beloved mother has experienced a transformation over the past few months, albeit not by my doing. Nevertheless, let’s focus on the exciting ventures ahead. The Power of Plant Medicines and Psychedelics “The Way of the Healer” is a multi-faceted documentary that celebrates the potency of plant, animal, and ancestral medicines. Within the realm of the psychedelics movement, incredible women are spearheading groundbreaking work. This project aims to spotlight their stories and shed light on the profound impact they are making. My Journey as a Storyteller For those who don’t know me or my journey, storytelling has been my lifelong passion. I spent numerous years in television news, directing and producing documentaries that empower individuals to use their voice and share their stories. One such documentary explored the challenges faced by women dealing with revenge porn and cybersexual harassment, igniting a social justice movement. This experience taught me the power of unity and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. Connecting with Healing Practitioners The profound desire to share stories led me to connect with women and individuals who provide plant medicine to others. Whether they identify as women, LGBTQIA+, or indigenous, their narratives have often gone unheard. This documentary aims to change that. By shining a light on their journeys and the transformative experiences people are having through plant medicine, we hope to foster awareness, understanding, and curiosity. Healing Trauma and Expanding Consciousness Many individuals turn to plant medicines like cannabis, psilocybin, ayahuasca, or peyote to heal trauma, PTSD, and addiction. The documentary will explore the tremendous potential of these substances in addressing emotional challenges. Furthermore, it offers a gateway to expanding consciousness, energy, vibration, and frequency. If you’ve ever pondered the deeper questions of life, purpose, and self-discovery, this body of work aims to provide thought-provoking insights. What’s to Come While the documentary’s release date is yet to be determined, we are thrilled to have captured significant footage. We’ll soon begin shopping it around, eager to share it with the world.
