A WEEK IN THE LIFE & A NOTE FROM DARIETH CHISOLM
I don’t know about you but I sure entered this new year with a bang!
My sister, mom and Godmother all came to visit me. Even my son slowed down enough to spend two weeks of his busy life hanging with is momma. What a priceless time with my baby. He’s decided to adopt a plant-based diet and so I had some fun attempting to whip up some plant-based treats. I never knew quinoa, cauliflower pizza and tofu could taste so good! If you’ve got any plant-based recipes that I should try, send them through to me! The next time Tre visits, I plan to have some of your recipes on the table.
On another note, my documentary 50 Shades of Silence has been accepted into multiple film festivals at the end of last year and we earned an award at the Culver City Film Festival in Los Angeles for best editing! Given the insanely long hours I spent with my team working to pull together a documentary that accurately conveyed my experience of betrayal and revenge porn at the hands of my ex, I’d say that this was an award graciously received!
I intend to make 2020 a year full of new experiences and new delights! From plant-based cooking and navigating the film festival circuit, to exploring the idea of my first ever international women’s empowerment retreat (stay tuned!) and escaping to the rainforests of Bali for some “me” time, I’m eagerly anticipating the year ahead.
What are you excited to create in 2020?
P.S. I’m blown away by the amount of people booked into my calendar already this year! There are some serious women looking to make some serious impact. If you are one of those women, book into my calendar here.
Priceless moments, watching the sunset with my mom
Walking the red carpet in LA at my film premier
Being witness to the transformational impact of storytelling in the lives of incredible women.
Is journaling a part of your daily practice? I’ve used journaling over the years to help me get clear on my intentions, dream bigger visions and to document the days of my life (just like a soap opera, but a little less dramatic!). Journaling fits into my schedule right along with meditation and prayer.
If you’re thinking about adding journaling to your practice then here are a few of my best tips:
Speaking of music, I thought I’d share with you what I’m listening to on Pandora.
This past weekend I hosted the very first All Rise: The Art of Storytelling Speakers Retreat of 2020! As always, it was a beautiful experience in sunny Fort Myers, Florida. Lives were transformed, businesses were launched and intentions were set. Here’s what some of the ladies had to say!
Our next retreat is May 1-3 and we are almost full already! There are only 3 spots remaining so if you’ve been wanting to attend this retreat I HIGHLY suggest getting booked in now. This retreat is still 4 months away and being that we’re almost full, I know the spots won’t last.
I’m off to the Chandler International Film Festival this week where I have another weekend of the Arizona Premier and screening of the 50 Shades of Silence documentary. I’m so proud that this documentary is being screened and getting the air time it deserves. With so many lives being affected by revenge porn in today’s digital age, it’s an important conversation to be having and one that I’m committed to sparking as often as I can.
If you’re in Chandler this weekend come and say hello and watch the screening on Sunday January 19th at 12.15pm
Get details about the film festival here and register for the 50 Shades of Silence screening here.
